At Bobb Howards Transmission we believe there is never a stupid question.  With this in mind, we have put a list together of the most frequently asked questions in relation to transmissions, and hopefully this will be of some help to you.  We also understand that it is impossible to cover every topic, so please feel free to call or contact us today with any question you may have.  Emails will be answered within 24 to 48 hours.

 

Q: My check engine  light came on and it feels like the transmissions isn't shifting.  Could this be a transmission problem?

A: Yes, it could be a sign of transmission problems, however it may not be the transmission at all.  The best thing to do is to bring the vehicle to Bobb Howards and have one of our expert technicians diagnose it.

Q. My transmission appears to be acting up, does this mean I need a new transmission?

A. Not necessarily, many things can cause a transmission to not act properly.  It may not be something all that serious.

Q. Does Bobb Howards offer warranties on the work performed?

A. Yes, all work performed at Bobb Howards is warranteed, most with a nationwide guarantee, please call or stop by for details.

Q. If I drop my vehicle off, how will I get home?

A. Bobb Howards offers a shuttle service to home, work, or virtually anywhere within a 20 mile radius.  We also offer rental cars.

Q. I do not get out of work until after 5:30 PM, but I need my car back today, what should I do?

A. Special arrangements can always be made for after hours pick up, please contact us with any special needs or arrangements you may need.

Q. My transmission was rebuilt at Bobb Howards 9 months ago, * I think something may be wrong, what should I do?

A. By all means, please bring it right in, whether we rebuilt it 9 months ago, 9 days ago, or 2 years ago.  If you feel there is a problem please bring it right in for free diagnostics.

Q. My car does not move and it is my only source of transportation. What should I do?

A. Have no fear, Bobb Howards office staff can arrange for a rental car, our associates can even pick you up at home or your office.

Q. After my repair, what happens if I break down out of state?

A. Heaven forbid you should break down out of state, have no fear, our work is guaranteed with the best warranty in the business, we are members of nationally recognized programs that cover our transmission coast to coast.  In the event of a breakdown you will be back on the road as soon as possible, just as if you were serviced at Bobb Howards.

Q. Is there anything special we should do after a major transmission repair?

A. There is no break in period for your transmission however we do ask that you bring the vehicle back to Bobb Howards within 15 days so we can double check out work and make sure everything is operating properly.  There is no charge for this service, and in most cases it takes 20 minutes.

Q. I am on my way to work, and my car stopped moving, what should I do?

A. Please don't panic, I will dispatch a tow truck as soon as possible, and we will arrange for transportation to your job.
